Location and Date

I must say, deciding where and on what date you want to celebrate this special day was such a hard choice. There were so many beautiful options. It took us months to decide. There are so many facotrs that goes into play when choosing the location. First Ariel and I had to decide as to where we wanted to have our wedding. We had 4 options: 1) Orlando 2) West Palm Beach 3)New York and 4)Dominican Republic.

After weeks and weeks of research, we decided Orlando was the best choice for both of us and our families. The wedding venue we chose is a dream come true, it's beautiful! When choosing the venue, we had to consider how many people we were going to invite. That was one of the big factors we had to consider when choosing the venue, due to the fact certain venues can only accommodate a certain amount of people. In addition, we had to consider if we wanted an outdoor wedding reception or an indoor reception. We can't control the forces of nature such as rain, extreme humidity (especially in Florida), allergens, bugs, unforeseen natural disasters which are all risks when planning an outdoor wedding. In addition a backup (indoor) plan is a must. At the very moment, it seemed like way to much planning and risks, therefore, we came to an agreement an indoor wedding was the best way to go for our big day.

We had to coordinate with our Church and reception hall to make sure they had the date available for our big day. The date we chose...drum roll please....May 30th of 2015!!!! It's weeks away and I can't be more excited.

Engagement

I'm engaged! On May 10, 2014, the man I love, proposed to me! I can't explain how happy I am! The engagement was truly an amazing experience.

But before I get into how he proposed to me, let me provide a brief history. My fiance and I met on the beautiful night of love, Valentines night, in 2010. We live two and a half hours away. It is tough having along distance relationship, but hey, we made it work for 4 years, so far :D.

Now on to the exciting engagement! It was the day before mothers day, and he had told me he was not coming to see me because he was going to spend mothers day with his mother and aunt. I completely understood and besides, my awesome friend had invited me to a " fashion show". How could I turn down a fashion show? She had told me we are going to a fashion show where we had to dress up really nice and she helped pick out my outfit. Once we arrive to the "fashion show site", she noted the venue for the show was not ready and since we were early, she decided that we should take a walk at the park. As we were walking in the park, I turned to my right and there he was, the love of my life, waiting for me with rose petals on the floor. I could not believe what my eyes were seeing, he walked up to me and gave me a small speech and proposed! It was truly beautiful. Of course I said YES! After our moment, I noticed there was a photographer. Yes a photographer, he hired to capture the moment! How thoughtful of him! Right after, we had our engagement shoot. Proposed to and engagement shoot all in one day! As you could have already figured, there was not a fashion show, it was all a set up. It's a moment I would not change for anything in the world.

Here are some pictures from the engagement.

There he was waiting for his future fiance <3

While I was walking (still did not know he was there)

The moment I realized what was happening

After I said the big YES!

There are plenty more pictures, but did not want to bore you with a million pictures of the engagement. ;)

Now that I'm engaged, what happens next? I would like to take you on my journey of planning my wedding. I would be posting pictures from the very beginning of the planning process to the very end. I am not planning to hire a wedding planner for the time being, because I want to experience every single moment of this beautiful process. We are hoping to get married in May of 2015. Let the planning begin!
